Back Alley Plastic Surgery Blamed for Death

Botched Butt Lift with Silicone Implants

By Dan Gesslein

HEALTH- A woman who performed fake butt lifts out of her Castle Hill home was arrested after one of her patients died. The felonious plastic surgeon has been convicted twice before for dangerous cosmetic procedures.

Published reports say 44-year-old Whalesca Castillo is being held at the 43rd Precinct and is expected to be charged with manslaughter in the death of her former patient Leslie Ayala.

Cops say in June, Castillo performed a butt lift on Ayala in the phony doctor’s Seward Avenue home. During the course of her buttocks being injected with silicone implants, Ayala suffered cardiac arrest. The Medical Examiner’s Office ruled Ayala’s death a homicide. Castillo is expected to be charged soon.

Castillo is no stranger to running afoul of the law over questionable cosmetic procedures. Investigators said she had been convicted twice of performing illegal cosmetic procedures.

In addition to using questionable substances such as silicone, Castillo had been known to use Krazy Glue as a sealant on patient’s buttocks after injecting silicone.

Injections of substances like silicone and collagen in the buttocks have not been approved by the FDA. The agency rejects silicone because it has been linked to permanent disfigurement, and death.
